Prevent other Children from Dying from a Foodborne Illness.

Barb Kowalcyk, my friend, colleague and scientist, lost her son, Kevin, to a foodborne illness. She founded the Center for Foodborne Illness Research & Prevention to prevent others from becoming victims of food poisoning. and has brought that center to OSU. Kevin would have been 21 this month. Today, by donating $$, I had the opportunity to do more than just talk about how to prevent food poisoning. No one can share the story in the same way as a mom. Barbara was featured in the Movie: Food, Inc. and talks about the efforts she is making at Ohio State University’s College of Food Agriculture and Environmental Sciences to combine resources for this endeavor: Buckeye Fundraiser to Prevent FBIs .
